“One of the surprise releases of the year that sounded fully-formed with some laidback, effortless songwriting and playing. Catchy as hell!” - Post to Wire

“’s Australiana at it’s finest.... Henderson’s vocal, or at the very least the delivery, is reminiscent of several artists. But, equally different and individual enough, for me not to be able to quite put my finger on which ones....” - AU Review

I’m a big fan of CJ Stranger’s album ‘Hey Stranger’” - Stuart Coupe

CJ Stranger is rapidly carving out a distinctive place in the Australian music landscape with his unique blend of indie rock and alt-country. He released critically acclaimed and Top 10 album ‘Hey Stranger’ in 2020 and now returns in 2022 with new music. Recently performing in the Australian and New Zealand 2022 tour of The Girl from the North Country (the award-winning Broadway musical featuring the music of Bob Dylan), this is his first time performing at Cowra Civic Centre.

Opening the afternoon will be upcoming Orange singer-songwriter Eli Stanford. Surrounded by music all his life, he has a soulful voice that shines through on his latest release “Perfect Vision”. One of his major influences is Bill Withers and that groove reverberates through what Eli puts into his performance as his “music means everything to him”. Part of Australian Music Month made possible by the Live and Kicking program from Arts OutWest.

This event is raising funds for individuals and businesses impacted in our community by the floods. Tickets are free but donations are being requested at the door – cash or card. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
