Arrangements for Cowra’s Community Australia Day Service on Tuesday 26 January are proceeding at full steam and you’re invited to join us! Things will look a little different this year to ensure we are following the NSW Public Health Orders and, most importantly, protecting the safety of people attending the event. Therefore, tickets are essential to enter the event - please book in advance for a free ticket for each person that will be attending - including children and babies.
Australia Day in Cowra gets underway at Cowra Civic Square at 8am with a free BBQ Breakfast hosted by the Rotary Club of Cowra. (Mmmm, we can smell those snags and egg and bacon rolls already!) Relax and enjoy breakfast in the specially created outdoor café area before the official flag-raising and ceremonial ringing of Australia’s World Peace Bell at 8.45am.
The Australia Day Service in the Civic Centre Auditorium commences at 9am. This year we’re excited to be welcoming Cowra’s 2021 Australia Day Ambassador, Mr Peter Cousens AM, together with other special guests. Some of Cowra’s best will be recognised through the Cowra Australia Day Awards, the Citizenship ceremony and Australia Day School Literary Awards.
TICKETS are free but bookings are essential. You will have an allocated seat inside the Civic Centre and a colour for the table to sit at outside for breakfast.
TUESDAY 26 JANUARY AT 8AM
Duration: approximately 3 hours
