Talent. Beauty. Unmissable.

Roger Benedict, Artistic Director, Sydney Symphony Fellowship

Cowra Civic Centre will present a concert of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellows on Saturday 8 February at 1pm after a week of residency in Cowra.

Following a last minute change of destination due to bush fires, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellows will take up residence at Cowra Civic Centre for their Regional Retreat with many hours of rehearsals, MasterClasses for secondary students and finishing off with a public performance in the main auditorium.

The Fellowship program is a one year apprenticeship with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and selects the very top musicians from around Australia who are transitioning from tertiary studies to making their professional debut. They perform side-by-side with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in mainstage programs and concerts for schools and families. They also tour performing chamber music in Sydney and regional NSW. Those selected are the crème-de-la-crème of emerging Australian talent.

This will be the first time Sydney Symphony Fellows will have their Regional Residency Retreat in Cowra. Their performance on Saturday 8 February will include chamber music by composers such as Mozart, Schuloff, Purcell, Baermann and Bruckner offering a diverse and exciting program of live music.
